The Omaha Triathlon is held at scenic Lake Cunningham. We have expanded our races to include even more options. Choose between the Sprint Distance, Aqua Bike, Olympic Distance, or the Team Events.
USAT Regional Qualifier- We are excited to announce that the Omaha Triathlon has been chosen again to host the 2014 USAT Regional Championship, the 2014 Paratriathlon Regional Championship, and the Best of the Us Amateur Triathlete Competition.
The olympic distance is our main course for this event. The distances consist of a 1500 meter swim, a 40KM bike, and a 10K run. With a little training, anyone can complete this distance.
THE BIKE - The bike course is a 40 km, out and back, fast and rolling course. This is a great improvement over the original 2010 course. Out past Lake Cunningham East on State St. then North on 72nd, West on Bennington Road, merge right to HWY 36, and turn-around at Bennington Lake. Follow the same course back to the lake area.
TEAM EVENTS - The Olympic distance triathlon is open for team registration. Teams may have either 2 or 3 athletes participate.
The sprint distance is 1/2 the distance of the olympic. The sprint swim waves start immediately folloing the olympic waves. Both race courses run concurrently.
THE BIKE - 20 km bike past Lake Cunningham east on State St. then north on 72nd, west on Bennington Road, turn around and back to lake area.
THE RUN - 5 km run along the trail on the West side of Cunningham Lake to Garvin Road and back.Course Maps
